Bestie Nails

Posted by Caitlyn at 04:15 0 comments
The most wonderful thing about Instagram has been developing some rather err interesting relationships with some very kooky ladies.

I've been having a bunch of fun with these gorgeous ladies mulanpoopy, hammerednails, tinkybell_nails, and jennacide77.

Woods (mulanpoopy) decided on this mani. A green/gold gradient with leopard print and sparkles!

And here are the bestie nails.

Top Left: Tinkybell_nails
Top Right: Mine
Middle Left: Jennacide77
Middle Right: Ohmygoshpolish
Bottom Left: Mulanpoopy
Bottom Right: Hammerednails

So the idea is a theme or mani is picked and we all do it together. Lots of fun ^_^

Yep!

Rainbow Gradient and Nail Stamping.

Amazing Nail Art on Facebook posted this stunning pictorial by Ohtammm on Instagram.

Basic Steps

1 - Prepare your nails with s base coat and 1-2 coats of a solid white colours. This will help make your colours pop!

2 - Apply your selected colours to a makeup sponge.

3 - Take the sponge and dab on to the nail. Working relatively quickly with small dabbing motion has seemed to work better for me. I found if I played around too much the polish it would get tacky and the sponge would start to leave pieces on the nail.

4 - I recommend leaving your nail to dry for a few minutes and then repeat the colour dabbing process, this will allow you to build up the colours and achieve your desired look.

5 & 6 - Use a dotting tool or toothpick to draw on a leopard print to finish this design.

My attempt was satisfactory, but definitely not as good as Ohtammm's pictorial. Nail gradients take a bit of practice to get that amazing transition between the colours.

Clean up is still a weaker part of my nail art, but I'll get there :D

I decided to skip steps 5 & 6 on Ohtammm's pictorial and jump right back in to the nail stamping, here is what I came up with.

I'm so in LOVE with these nails! I think perhaps some of the best I've done!

Stamping Adventures

Posted by Caitlyn at 23:56 0 comments
Mum likes to follow a rule of polish once a day for me, I love it way too much and Mum gets worried I'm wasting it.

Mum and Dad are away camping...muahaha. So today I managed to do two swatches of some recently won BYS nail polishes and two different sets of stamping >:)

First up we have the blindly gorgeous Get Ink Make It Pink by BYS Cosmetics.

I used my Cheeky Beauty stamping plate for these, but unfortunately my top coat decided to smudge the design. Not to worry it was soon removed for these ....

I used China Glaze's Light As Air as the stamping colour.

I'm having so much fun with stamping, it's a very simple way to achieve some great looking nail art.

Welcome!

Hi Everyone,

I've decided to start a blog where I can talk a bit more about my nails, purchases and whatever else comes to mind regarding nail polish.

Now I can't guarantee how often I will update this blog but I will do my best!

What better way to start then with my nails of the day.

For this mani I used two coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On for the base and this gorgeous pink by BYS Cosmetics is called Get Ink Make it Pink.

The stamping plate used is from a recent purchase from Cheeky Beauty. I bought the Set of Three Jumbo Nail Art Plates - Z2.

I'm rather impressed with Cheeky Beauty's service. I ordered these plates for a total of $24.99 with free shipping world wide.

My order was placed on the 11th of April, update email to confirm shipment on the 15th and my order was received on the 24th. For a free shipping service to Australia I'm very happy and will return to buy more eventually!

Here is a closer look at some of the nail plate images.

They are just so beautiful and I can't wait to continue my nail stamping adventures.

If you have an feedback or constructive criticism comment away, would love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you!
